Fibrenamics has been distinguished with the “Scientific Research in Military Sciences” Award, an initiative of the Instituto Universitário Militar that recognises scientific contributions of high merit and strategic relevance in the field of Military Sciences.

In the Scientific Area of Military Techniques and Technologies, the award distinguished the scientific article “Durable and breathable ZnO/graphene-coated fabrics for enhanced BQR protection”, published in 2025 in the Journal of Materials Chemistry B, a scientific journal of the Royal Society of Chemistry.

The publication results from a research effort developed by a large multidisciplinary team, integrating scientific contributions from researchers at Fibrenamics, and focuses on the development of advanced, durable and breathable textile materials with enhanced performance in protection against biological, chemical and radiological (BQR) risks.

This recognition highlights the scientific quality of the work carried out and reflects the continued commitment of Fibrenamics’ R&D&I team to the production of rigorous knowledge, aimed at advancing technological solutions applied to protection and safety.

The award also represents recognition of the collective effort and the strategic approach that guides Fibrenamics’ activity, based on the integration of science, innovation and technology to address concrete societal challenges.

The distinction further reinforces the motivation to continue developing applied research in the areas of security, sustainability and technological progress, contributing to responses to current and future challenges.
