Fibrenamics’ strategic projects highlighted at the 3rd Meeting of the Mobilising Agendas
Transforming knowledge into solutions for industry is one of the main challenges of innovation in Portugal. It was with this commitment that Fibrenamics participated in the 3rd Meeting of the Mobilising Agendas for Business Innovation, held on 25 June at Europarque, in Santa Maria da Feira.
Promoted by IAPMEI, the meeting brought together companies, entities from the national scientific and technological system, associations and partners involved in the Mobilising Agendas funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan, providing a moment to showcase results, share knowledge and value collaborative innovation.
Fibrenamics’ participation in this meeting reflected its involvement in strategic projects that bring together advanced materials, sustainability, circularity, digitalisation, resource efficiency and industrial transformation. As part of the event, Fibrenamics was represented through the Lusitano, Blue Bioeconomy Pact, GIATEX, Drivolution and R2U Technologies projects.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to give concrete visibility to some of the solutions developed within these agendas. Among the presentation moments, highlights included Manuel Castro Almeida, Minister of Economy and Territorial Cohesion, and Maria da Graça Carvalho, Minister of Environment and Energy, engaging with prototypes from the Blue Bioeconomy Pact, as well as João Rui Ferreira, Secretary of State for Economy, learning more about the Lusitano project and its contribution to the transformation of the textile and clothing industry.
Within the Blue Bioeconomy Pact, Fibrenamics contributes to the valorisation of marine resources and to the development of new solutions based on the blue bioeconomy. This project promotes the integration of marine raw materials and by-products into innovative value chains, opening up new possibilities for more sustainable products, processes and services.
The Lusitano Project aims to strengthen the innovation and reindustrialisation capacity of Portugal’s textile and clothing industry. Through the development of new solutions based on natural and recycled fibres, smart technologies and more sustainable processes, this agenda contributes to positioning the sector in higher added-value chains.
Within the scope of R2U Technologies, Fibrenamics participates in the development of modular solutions for construction, exploring the potential of composite materials, ecodesign and intelligence applied to new building systems. The project seeks to respond to the challenges of industrialisation, efficiency and sustainability in the habitat sector.
The GIATEX project focuses on one of the most relevant challenges in the textile industry: the efficient management of water in textile finishing processes. Fibrenamics has contributed to the development of technological solutions aimed at treating, reusing and monitoring this resource, promoting more circular and sustainable industrial processes.
The Drivolution agenda is focused on the transition towards the factory of the future in the automotive sector, integrating areas such as digitalisation, Industry 5.0, materials, safety, ergonomics and training. Fibrenamics’ participation in this project reinforces its contribution to the development of advanced solutions capable of addressing the challenges of mobility, smart manufacturing and industrial sustainability.
Participation in this meeting allowed Fibrenamics to strengthen its connection with national partners, follow the progress of highly strategic collaborative projects and highlight the role of applied innovation in creating solutions with economic, industrial and social impact.
By integrating these Mobilising Agendas, Fibrenamics reinforces its positioning as an innovation platform oriented towards knowledge transfer, bringing science, technology and industry closer together to address the major challenges of the Portuguese economy.
