In a context where sustainability has become a global priority, the BornRecycled project emerges as a pioneering example of innovation in waste valorization, creating sustainable raw materials that drive product differentiation in the furniture sector.
With this commitment in mind, Nautilus, an innovative company in the education sector, has joined efforts with Fibrenamics and B4Logic to create the BornRecycled project. This ambitious project has a set of specific objectives:
- Study the process of transforming and valorizing polymeric and cellulosic waste (PP and wood), capable of converting it into new raw materials suitable for processing;
- Study of the process of developing sustainable raw materials, based on previously treated waste and/or green polymers, through the extrusion process, with the incorporation of recycled material content of up to 40 percent;
- Study of the process of injecting components from the new type of raw material developed, guaranteeing its viability for product development;
- Study of the process of developing components from previously recycled raw materials, through compression molding processes, incorporating contents of up to 80%;
- Functionalization of material surfaces based on conductive materials, to provide them with traceability;
- Developing proofs of concept for structural furniture components.
The project BornRecycled (COMPETE2030-FEDER-00589800) is promoted by Nautilus.
