Goals
The SmartEco Packaging project intends to contribute, in an efficient way, to meet the needs of exploring the potential associated with the use of regional resources capable of reducing imports to the Azores Archipelago and the development of innovative and more sustainable products, from the extraction of starch and combination of bioactive agents. In addition, it is also intended that this project, through its technological advantages, triggers a drag effect of technology in different industries and applications in the area of the development of biodegradable polymeric materials.
Innovation
The approach envisaged in the project will enable OTM Verde to develop innovative products with a strong technological component, for the sector of polymeric materials and smart packaging, namely: flexible packaging, hard packaging, hospitality products, among other possible applications. With these developments, OTM Verde will be able to produce value-added products, not being dependent on external partners to do so. Consequently, this methodology will allow you to move up the value chain in this sector, making the developed product a reference product for internationalization..
