Luísa Arruda, head of the Product Design unit and the creative mind behind the stand's design, in collaboration with Afonso Gonçalves, was inspired by the fascinating behavior of auxetic materials to design a space that is more than an exhibition: it is an immersive and interactive experience.

Luísa describes the inspiration and philosophy behind her creative process:

"Auxetic behavior is determined by the negative Poisson's ratio found in some structures and materials. This means that when they are stretched in one direction, they also expand in the opposite direction."

This deliberate and symbolic choice of theme reflects Fibrenamics' approach: to turn theory into practice with a real impact on the industrial and social environment.

Luísa also describes the intention behind the design:

"In addition to the fact that auxetic structures themselves are a development theme that has already been extremely consolidated by the Institute through research projects and patented products, the principle of auxetic behavior is what guides the brand in this meeting environment in Frankfurt. The curved angles of the panels have been designed to invite the passer-by to get to know our work in the field of fibers, structures and composite materials, in a kind of guided tour that goes from the nano, micro and macro scales, right up to the final consolidated products. But it's not just an invitation to get to know, it's also an opportunity to establish encounters in this metaphorically constructed field of dialogue that reverberate precisely in auxetic behavior. In other words, through the conversation between the public (institutions, companies, brands) and Fibrenamics, we intend to generate expansion in both directions: expansion not only of ideas, but also of joint solutions, arising from societal challenges, trends and opportunities, permeated by the principles of sustainability and performance, which confirm what is expressed in our motto "From Science to People".

Fibrenamics' participation in the TechTextil Fair demonstrates the institution's ongoing commitment to innovation and knowledge transfer in fibrous and composite materials. This event, a platform for Fibrenamics to demonstrate its capabilities and achievements in research and development, also allows it to strengthen its position as a benchmark in innovative and sustainable solutions that directly link science with the needs of society.
